Importing (ripping) CD Audio Tracks
CD Audio files are formatted to be played from a CD so they cannot be opied directly to a disk operating system. The process of importing Audio CD to a disk based audio format is commonly known as "ripping" a CD. With the Fx CD importer you can extract a single track or all tracks on an audio CD to WAV, MP3 or OGG formats.
The top frame of the window shown below contains drive information including from left to right the drive count, the drive letter and the device name.
If you have more than one CD on your system they will be listed in the dropdown.
The list of tracks on the CD shows the default track name, the format type and the play-time duration. The "Percent" column displays progress during conversion. Only tracks that are checked will be converted to disk.
Click on any track that you want to preview. If your computer has difficulty playing the file and you know the CD is good, you may be able to improve the playback by increasing the buffer size. If the CD is badly scratched you may still be able to import tracks even if you are unable to play them. See Scratched CD Options .

If your CD is in the FreeDB database, in addition to completing the name of the album each track will be properly named.
During the ripping process, each track that you check will be saved to the default output folder using the track name.
The digital audio format used for the saved file is set with the option buttons pictured below.
MP3, WMA and OGG formats also have advanced properties that you may set.
